BPI - TEA FIBER STRAW

The process of applying for certification for tea straws is lengthy, but we did it.

The International Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) and the United States Composting Council (USCC) jointly established the Compostable Plastic Product Certification Program. Biodegradable and compostable products that meet the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) ASTM D6400 and/or ASTM D6868 standards can be awarded the compostable seal.

BPI's goal: to verify that products can be successfully decomposed in professionally managed composting facilities without compromising the quality of the compost, and that organic waste can be successfully transferred to the compost.

But our straws can decompose on their own as long as there is a backyard/vegetable garden/soil
